We’re coming to the PNW!  In the next month, there will be two USA Climbing Setting Clinics:

Level 2 Clinic:  Clubsport Climbing Gym

September 26th and 27th December 5th and 6th, at Clubsport in Portland, Oregon, this Level 2 USAC Clinic is a competition-specific clinic designed to train, test, and certify setters, specifically to set for ABS Regional and SCS Divisional level events.  If you are a Level 1 Certified setter, or have experience setting Regional/Divisional Level USAC events and can work a minimum of V5/5.12 - this clinic will help you advance your competition setting skills for both youth and adults.  USAC National Setters Chris Danielson and Molly Beard will be instructing this clinic.

This clinic is two full days and the cost is $300.00.  A $39 USAC Routesetter Annual Membership is also mandatory, and if you are not already a member, you may also purchase the membership online.  Successful participants in the clinic will receive Level 2 Certification with endorsements in one or more of the competition areas – Youth Bouldering, Adult Bouldering, Youth Sport, and Adult Sport.

USAC Level 1 Clinic – Edgeworks Climbing Gym

This Level 1 Routesetting Clinic is scheduled for October 3rd and 4th at Edgeworks in Tacoma, Washington and instructed by USAC National Routesetter Mike Helt.  

This clinic is a great opportunity to learn the basics of competition routesetting, improve skills and techniques for commercial setting, and work with a top USA Climbing National setter.  Level 1 Clinics cover bouldering and roped terrain, focusing on techniques for efficient routesetting, theory and tools to understand and create climbing movement effectively, and introductory tricks and tips for competition routesetting.

This clinic is two full days and costs $100.00 plus a $39 USAC Routesetter Annual Membership.  Participants who successfully complete the clinic will receive a USAC Level 1 Routesetter Certification.  With any questions regarding this clinic, contact Mike at mike@routesetter.com
