Level 3 National

The Level 3 National Certification is accomplished through a hands-on internship program.

Certification is accomplished through two successful internships at USAC National events. At the completion of the second event the intern will receive a pass or fail at the discretion of attending Executive Committee and Routesetter Committee members.

NOTE: Currently only ABS Youth Nationals and SCS Youth & Open Nationals have internship positions.

 
Internship Duration

  • 5-7 days for each event

Prerequisites

  • Level 2 Regional Certification
  • Experience setting two or more USAC Regional/Divisional events
  • Ability to work a minimum of 5.12a and V6

Application Requirements

  • Resume
  • Two professional references

Outcomes (only after a successful internship and a successful apprenticeship.)

  • Level 3 National Certification
  • Certified to be Assistant Routesetter at USAC National events
  • Certified to be Chief Setter at USAC Regional & Divisional events

Membership Requirements

  • To maintain Level 3 National Certification setters must pay an annual membership fee of $39
  • Setters must also work at least two USAC Local events or one USAC Regional/Divisional/National event every two years
